International Education Resources on the WWW

Are you interested in information about professional development opportunities overseas? Study abroad information for your students? Have you ever had to track down a city and country telephone code or tried to figure out exactly what time it is in Beijing? If so, the district International/Intercultural Office has the Web Page for you.

As part of the on-going effort to provide faculty, administrators, and students with support in the area of international education program development, the District IIE Office is developing a Web Page which will provide all of the above information and much more. Opening for business in August of this year, the IIE Web Page will include:

• International study and travel opportunities, by region and country with information on costs, dates, and contacts for further details.
• International educational resources available within MCCCD (books, videos, curriculum information, syllabi, etc.)
• A listing of many international newspapers available on the Web, by language, region, and/or country. This will be a great resource for language and political science students and faculty among others.
• A listing of web sites which offer information on international business and trade around the world.
• A calendar of up-coming events related to international education, including meetings both internationally and in the U.S. This area will also list deadlines for programs such as Fulbright Scholarships, Department of Education grants, and others.
• Links to other Web sites such as international telephone directories, exchange rates, etc.
• Much more information as both the district IIE Office and the World Wide Web continue to grow.
