In 2001, The Maricopa Community College's Governing Board approved a special budget request for approximately $170,000 from the Disability Services Council, Deans of Student Services, and District Legal Department to provide specific equipment, hardware and software to be made available at the colleges:
- PIV Compaq Computer w/ 21" monitor

- Canon DR-3060 Scanner (high speed-multiple mode scanner)

- SmartView2 8000 (Video magnifier)
(all campuses)
- Hearing Helper FM Systems (Broadcasts the speaker's voice directly to the ears of the listener)

- SuperPrint 4425 (advanced, full featured TTY)
(all campuses)
- RBT 40 / Baum Vario 40 (Refreshable Braille Terminal)
(4 purchased and available for checkout district-wide through Scottsdale Community College)
- Tiger Advantage Embosser (personal computer printer for embossing high resolution tactile graphics and Braille)
(3 of these were purchased, located at Phoenix College, Glendale Community College, and Scottsdale Community College)
- Software:
