Dr. Michael Dues
Department of Communication

Join us for a day of dialogue with colleagues in Speech Communication from around the district.
Our foundations reach back to Plato, our scope is comprehensive as a practical art, a source of our humanity, and a social science. What will our future hold? What can we do to provide our students, our discipline, and our communities the greatest success in human communication?
Brief Overview of the Day
- Dr. Michael Dues will present two keynotes presentations during the course of the day. We will have a time for Q & A and then a small group dialogue on the questions of the day.
- We will reflect briefly on our core course competencies and spotlight some GIFTS, (Great Ideas for Teaching Speech).
- We will consider our political role as speech communication faculty.
- We are holding this event at Estrella Mountain to see the wonderful presentation space in their CTL.
