session details
WebDev 2001 Technology Dialogue Day
| title | WebScribe: ColdFusion Scripts and Server Needs
| | presentation type | Poster Session | | site represented | Glendale Community College
| | session description | The presentation "WebScribe: Shared Authoring of an Automated Web Site" details the use of a program from the vantage point of the target author who needs to maintain a frequently updated, multi-tiered web site with the help of a wizard tool that uses web-based forms to allow the automated formatting of content contributed by as many authors as needed to support the publishing project. This presentation is the necessary companion piece addressing the technical support issues that must be shared if this program were to be copied on another web server, such as at another campus. This session would be geared for IT personnel or for any faculty or staff who must gather information about what is required to replicate WebScribe for their use.

| | fit with theme | This project aligns with the theme of "The Strongest Link" by enabling the collaboration of multiple contributors to represent an organization on a web site; the pilot project of The Voice is also an example of teamwork involving faculty, students, and technical staff to electronically facilitate and manage some of the coursework for an academic program (journalism).
