| title | KJZZ/KBAQ Online Editor
| | presentation type | Poster Session | | site represented | Rio Salado College
| | session description | John Tynan, Webmaster for radio stations KJZZ, KBAQ, and Sun Sounds, will demonstrate an editing program developed at Rio Salado College to distribute the task of updating web pages. This on-line editing system was designed specifically to allow on-air personalities to create web-based content using a web-based interface similar to Microsoft Word, although it can also be used for coding HTML, if the user feels a bit more adventurous. The benefits of this editor allows the integrity of the HTML code to be maintainined, it ensures a consistent look and feel of the pages, and upholds the security restrictions as outlined by the Rio Salado Information Services department. The KBAQ/KJZZ online editor runs solely in Internet Explorer, and was developed by John with consultants Noah Dedmore and John Arbaugh. The current version of the editor incorporates Visual Basic scripting written by Scott Isaac, author of the book, Inside Dynamic HTML.

| | fit with theme | This allows content experts to focus on being experts in their area and still publish as they see fit - and when they see fit. This allows allows the station's lone web developer to develop better ways to support these staff members and achieve our department and station goals (and by extension the College's goals as a whole), so that we can better inform, educate, enlighten, and serve our audience over the web.
