Well, it certainly seems as though the kid here may finally be free of the winmail.dat monster! Thanks to Daniel Plaenitz and John Pares who both sent me private emails saying that I did not send an attachment to the list with my last email. Those two comments, plus the fact that no one flamed me, suggest that my attachment challenge may finally be overcome! Hooray!

For my contribution to all you Microsoft Mail/Outlook users out there, lurking in the shadows just WAITING to post, here's the high points of my current configuration

You can get this patch at: http://www.microsoft.com/outlook/documents/imep.htm. I believe it was the patch that fixed my problem with the nefarious winmail.dat ogre; those other settings had been that way for some time.

A final thanks to those of you who patiently, and without flaming, sent me private emails about my attachments to the list. I appreciate those who try to be a positive influence for change, rather than merely grandstanding for the list or their own ego.

Kevin

Let's hope this URL sticks around.

September 2003 I guess it does not stick very long. John Rigali kindly wrote with yet another URL for this tech note:

Let's take a bet on the shelf life of this URL.... 1 year? 8 months? 12 minutes?
