Community Conversation

A Fetzer Institute Project

June 10, 2005 at Rio Salado College (Conference Center)
June 24, 2005 at Franciscan Renewal Center
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.

The Maricopa Community Colleges have been selected as one of eleven colleges/systems across the nation to participate in a Fetzer Institute project. In 1999, the Fetzer Institute began to explore the relationship between the inner life of spirit and the outer life of service.

Now, in this exciting next step, we invite your participation in a Community Conversation to literally reclaim our best selves and to explore the relationship between our inner and outer lives as individuals and as global citizens in community.

In convening Community Conversations, our purpose is to create a safe yet stimulating space in which we can reflect together about that which is closest to us - our own inner lives. We will be invited to speak honestly about our lives and to listen and respond to each other with encouragement and compassion. Our time together will include large-group, small group and solitary settings. Together we will explore the stories of our journeys and insights from a variety of poets, storytellers, and wisdom traditions.

You are invited to attend one of two Community Conversations, which are being offered from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m:

  • May 7, 2005 South Mountain Community College (Performing Arts Center Room 740)
  • June 10, 2005 Rio Salado College (Conference Center)
  • June 24, 2005 Franciscan Renewal Center

Participation is limited to 25 people at each Community Conversation and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register online.

You are welcome to invite friends and colleagues who might be interested. Participation includes a gift of a Fetzer Institute Monograph Series and other materials as well as morning and afternoon breaks and a luncheon.

We look forward to co-facilitating these community conversations.
