Fall 2005 Community Conversation
Oct 22, 2005
Franciscan Renewal Center
5802 East Lincoln Drive
Scottsdale, AZ 85253
Brother Anthony Room
9:00am - 4:00pm
The Maricopa Community Colleges were pleased to host a series of three
Community Conversations during May and June 2005. Based upon the number of
registrations, two additional sessions are being offered for employees and
community members who have not yet been able to participate.
Registration is now open for a conversation on Saturday, October 22 (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) at the
Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 East Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85253.
An additional date in March 2006 will be announced in January for a
conversation to be facilitated at Phoenix College.
The Community Conversations are a continuation of a project of the Fetzer
Institute. The Maricopa Community Colleges were selected as one of eleven
participant colleges/systems across the nation. In 1999, the Fetzer
Institute began to explore the relationship between the inner life of spirit
and the outer life of service.
The purpose of convening Community Conversations is to create safe yet
stimulating spaces in which we can reflect together about that which is
closest to us - our own inner lives. We will be invited to speak honestly
about our lives and to listen and respond to each other with encouragement
and compassion. The time together will include large-group, small group and
solitary settings. Stories of individual and collective journeys will be
explored with contributions from a variety of poets, storytellers, and
wisdom traditions.
Participation is limited to 25 people at each Community Conversation and
registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. You are welcome to
invite friends and colleagues who might be interested. Participation
includes a gift of a Fetzer Institute Monograph and other materials as well
as morning and afternoon breaks and a luncheon.
We look forward to co-facilitating these community conversations.
