Who are you really, and what does your work really mean? As a scholar, why do what you do? What are your commitments? Are the challenges worth the rewards? In this seminar Dr. Shugrat takes us back to our deep roots, "where life and wisdom abide". Through the audience engagement, he explores the cahnging college culture and addresses ways of dealing with the dilemma we all face-- getting so involved in our craft that we lose our "true self".

About the speaker...
Sanford C. "Sandy" Shugart currently serves are president of Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida, a college of more than 50,000 students that is best known for its focus on student learning and high rates of graduation.
Often described as "Parker Palmer-esque", he is widely known for his speaking and writing on servant leadership, as well as being a published poet and songwriter.
