This workshop will provide participants a better understanding of the reasons to internationalize curriculum at the institutional level, methods to design learning experiences, and outline strategies for internationalizing the curriculum. During the workshop, participants will interact as teams, articulate international learning outcomes, outline challenges against the curriculum, and discuss strategies for internationalizing the curriculum.

This workshop is designed to help faculty realize the importance of an internationalized vision for the institution and outline strategies and timeframe for internationalizing the college. During the workshop, participants will interact as teams, articulate the importance of institutionalizing international education, define goals/vision, identify obstacles and challenges, and discuss strategies to fit the institution's mission.
About the speakers...
Dr. Madeleine Green is Vice President and Director of the Center for International and Institutional Initiatives of the American Council on Education. She is responsible for the international programs and leadership development activities. From 1978 to 1999, she also directed the ACE Fellowship Program, which prepares future leaders for positions in higher education administration.
Dr. Green has written widely on topics related to leadership and management. Her recent publications include "Transforming Higher Education: Views from Leaders Around the World" (1997); "The American College President" (1993); "Investing in Higher Education: A Handbook of Leadership Development" (1992); "minorities on Campus: A Handbook for Education" (1989); and "Leaders for a New Era: Strategies for Higher Education" (1988).
Dr. Christa Olson is the Assistant Director for International Initiatives of the American Council on Education. She has been working with Dr. Green presenting on internationalizing the campus. She is also the co-author of the guide book "Internationalizing the Campus: A User Guide" published in 2003 by the American Council on Education. The guide book has been widely used in the academia and the Maricopa Community Colleges as one resource in international education field.
