In February 2007, Alisa Cooper, Ocotillo, will be presenting a Podcasting Series at Mesa Community College. Participants must register for each session separately. The second and third sessions in the series are “hands-on” presentations. The three part series includes:

Session I: Podcasting Theory & Practice
Tuesday, February 6, 2007
MCC, AS192, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

About: Session I will be an informational session/discussion about the theory and practice of podcasting in education and a discussion of the Podcasting Wiki contents. Participants will leave with a better understanding of what podcasting is, how it can be and is used in education, and what resources are available to aide in creating and subscribing to podcasts. Numerous resources will be shared.

Session II: Creating Audio for Podcasts Using Audacity

About: In Session II participants will learn how to create audio, using Audacity, and other online tools like Odeo. Participants will learn tips for creating the best quality audio, choosing the best optimal equipment (mics, recorders), and converting audio to optimal file size.

Session III: Making a Podcast

MCC, AS192, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

About: In Session III participants will learn how to create a podcast with their audio file as well as the steps involved using a blog (Blogger) and a feed burner (Feedburner). Both are free resources on the web.
