- Violence and Abuse Issues Affecting Students
- Participants will actively gain information about the roots of violence, male and female
socialization that precipitates victimization, and how to intervene in individual, group,
campus, and classroom settings when students are affected. Focus is for counselors and deans
of students.
- The TPD (Transfer Partnerships Degree): An Opportunity for Future Success
- Participants will learn about the development and the piloting of the MCCCD Board Approved TPD.
This session will cover the development and definition of the degree, the piloting, the future
use of the degree, and the benefits to students.
- Employee Evaluation: Portfolio Pilot
- This session will focus on the user of th eportfolio as a vehicle for putting into action
the college commitment to the principles of quality and learning organizations. Discussion will
center on the role of portfolios in the empowerment and accountability of employees.
- StudentPal -- Presentation
- This session is designed for those who would like to know more about StudentPal, Glendale
Community College's answer to student tracking and proactive student services.

- Hammerschlag Follow Up
- This interactive session is a follow-up to Dr. Hammerschlag's keynote address and will expand
on the concept of professional and personal renewal. Book signing will follow.
- Articulation and Advising Using the WWW
- This session will feature a lively demonstration of the articulation Web instructions and the
hyperlinks to course information, student services, and institutions with which MCCCD articulates.
Learn the how-to, impact on students and academic advising, tips, and highlights. An interactive
session is included.
- Semiconductors: You Can't Live Without Them
- Semiconductor companies and others which support them will be creating 7,000 new technical
positions in the next five years in metro Phoenix. Two-year technologyrograms approved by these
companies and taught at Maricopa Community Colleges can qualify students for these new positions.

- StudentPal Hands-On
- Participants will learn how to navigate in StudentPal as well as how to create reports, access
student information, and utilize the early warning system as a retention tool.
