For more information and the registration form, see: http://www.maricopa.edu/webdev/fall96/index.html Bag of URLs A few goodies for you at: http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/eye/bag/curr.html E-mail via NetScape I was informed that the SCC email host was not set up for POP mail access, so those at Scottsdale will not be able to read their Internet e-mail as I described las week. If you are having some trouble with this, please check for help first with your college computer support staff as there may be some issues specific to your location. Jim Tipton at MCC must have read my mind; he wrote a nice guide to email systems and setting up NetScaoe for e-mail: http://www.mc.maricopa.edu/academic/ctl/jim/staff_email_info/ Class Schedules via the Web Jose Candanedo at GWCC has done some fantastic work with SIS, FOCUS, and VAX systems to create a web interface to the entire GateWay class schedule. It lists the course, location, date/time, instructor, and number of open seats, all in a nice table. http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/trm/ More information on how this was done is available from Jose's site: http://www.gwc.maricopa.edu/~jose/rfschd.html In the course schedule table, the codes are linked to the District Course Equivalency Guide that contains the official course descriptions, comptenencies,a nd outline. This work was accomplished by Doug Allenburg in the Disitrct Articulation Department and can be searched from: http://www.dist.maricopa.edu/eddev/artic/96/srchceg96.html Also, the District Technical Operations has a system to view closed courses at several of the colleges: http://pvax2.dist.maricopa.edu/oper/courses.html They also have a page that every 15 minutes checks the network status of all Maricopa network systems: http://pvax2.dist.maricopa.edu/oper/pingstat.html NetScape MIDI Plug-in We've not tried it yet, but Yamaha has released a plug-in to hear MIDImusic embeded in a web page" http://www.yamaha.com/ WebNet96 I was asked if anyone was attending the WebNet 96 conference in San Francsico: http://www.aace.org/conf/webnet.html If so, please share what you see/hear!
