Career Search Request
John Bradley (EMCC) wants to know if anyone has experience using some of the
tools he describes below:

         I have field-tested a career development course in which I
         have students complete hard copy versions of Holland's
         Self-Directed Search as one way to identify career interests.
         I also use another hard coy version of this instrument and
         the Kiersey Temperament Sorter.

         I would like for my students to be able to use an interactive
         web site to perform these self-assessments.

Using AltaVista to Locate Images
Digital's massive web search tool, AltaVista:

is my favorite not only for its speed and comprehensiveness, but for how you can
filter your search terms. 

Recently were were planning a new web site and thought we might use a metaphor of
an artist's paint palette. I wanted to see if it was done elsewhere- You can
search AltaVista for the file names of an inline graphic image- in this case, I
used the search string:

	   "image:palette"

which will comb the web findiong all the sites that have an HTMl image tag of
<img src=palette....>. I found what I was looking for at
