Our Vision

The MCCD Faculty and Staff Development Committee will become a catalyst for effective teaching and learning and for the development of an organizational culture and environment that are learning-centered.

The faculty developers plan a yearly district-wide event, faculty convocation, held the first day of accountability in the Spring semester. Next up is, Convocation 2006 which will take place January 6, 2006 at Phoenix College. For past convocations, see the archives.

In addition, we provide an overview and guide to district-wide grant opportunities available to faculty within Maricopa.

See mcli's comprehensive calendar of events including Dialogue Days. Information and application forms for the Learning Grants are also on mcli's web site. Also, mcli has developed a new series of "learnshops" or mini-workshops for faculty.

An ongoing project is compiling a collection of selected web resource links including access to our subscription of the National Teaching & Learning Forum.

Our Mission

The MCCD Faculty and Staff Development Committee will enrich and support student and organizational learning by:

providing opportunities to explore and test methods of teaching and learning;
encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and community building about and around learning;
contributing to an organizational climate that encourages and rewards innovation; and
advocating the alignment of policies and procedures.
