Into the Internet with the World Wide Web

What is a Web Browser?
- Once just Mosaic, now there are many
"flavors"
- a navigational tool for the Internet that offers access to
documents that contain not only text, but also graphics,
sound,
MPEG and
QuickTime digital movies,
as well as hypertext links to other such multimedia
documents.
- an umbrella that includes Web
pages plus access to Gopher servers, anonymous ftp sites, Telnet
hosts, and WAIS databases.
- a free program with versions for Macintosh, IBM/PC, and
UNIX-based computers.
- an easy to use step into the Internet.
