Resources Available from MCLI Information Servers
Alan H Levine, MCLI
In order to promote information sharing by computer, MCLI has
established two file servers available to District users. We
presented
the MCLI
Public file server in the October
1992 issue of the Labyrinth.
You may use the servers to try out new computer programs, to search
for new information, or to transfer text, graphics, and software without
leaving your desk. The MCLI Information Servers include:
(1) MCLI Public
AppleTalk file server (see
the October 1992 Labyrinth). Note that the
IBM/PC programs can be copied across the network to a Macintosh
computer and transferred to a DOS-formatted disk with the Apple File
Exchange program that comes with Apple's System 7.0.
(2) MCLI Gopher
MCLI's Gopher server can be found from the District Gopher Server by the
following path:
/Gopher Space
/Maricopa Gophers
/Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction Gopher
or by using a Gopher client program to connect to the Internet
address:
tapeats.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu
70
The directories on both servers are the same:
