This is a lecture series featuring contemporary mid-career photographers who are engaged in defining a sense of place and try to convey a deeper understanding about land, culture, environment and history of place.
They will also address what it means to work on a specific topic over an extended period of time.

2. A GPS Micro-environment Micro-climate Field Study

Scottsdale Community College (2005-2006)
SCC GPH students will produce a topo map of the campus using GPS units. They will also use portable weather stations to measure climatic conditions; and use laptops to correlate and evaluate the data collected and locations utilized. The data will be mapped using isoplething techniques and correlated to evaluate if subtle elevation differences yield different environmental conditions.

3. A Multidisciplinary Blueprint for Collaborative Interpretations of 20th-Century Masterworks

Paradise Valley Community College (2005-2006)
"A Multidisciplinary Blueprint for Collaborative Interpretations of 20th-Century Masterworks" is a series of lecture-recitals that present large-scale works of recent chamber music. These works, which require performing forces of ten to twenty musicians, will also include choreography, film, poetry, acting, and elements of history and culture that surround each musical selection.

4. African Dance Influences in America - A Triumph of Culture and Change

Scottsdale Community College (2005-2006)
Students at 2 MCCCD campuses, SCC and GCC will be introduced to the important history and present range of black dance in America. Three choreographers will introduce students to the influences of African American dance on contemporary dance styles in our past, present and future. Each choreographer will teach master classes, lecture demonstrations and choreographic works.

5. Animating digital design concepts

Chandler-Gilbert Community College (2005-2006)
I intend to develop multimedia-based chunks of learning (learning objects) that can stimulate and accelerate student understanding of core concepts using Macromedia Flash in a digital design course. These animated objects could be incorporated into a variety of instructional formats including media for the classroom and web-based student study aids.

6. Assessing ESL Student Speech

GateWay Community College (2005-2006)
GateWay and Phoenix College ESL programs jointly propose hosting the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview Training for ESL instructors from both campuses. Learning best practices in teaching and assessing oral proficiency enriches student learning with robust, innovative activities that lead to increased student oral proficiency in academic, occupational and life settings.

7. Courses Ready-to-Teach

Mesa Community College (2005-2006)
The project will create a template for providing a customizable, electronic course packet that would allow instructors to adopt and/or adapt preexisting course materials to their needs. CRTs would allow instructors assigned new courses on short notice to begin with a fully integrated and explained set of course materials. The project involves sample development, usability testing and revision.

8. Creating Dynamic And Interactive Anatomy & Physiology Tutorials

This project will allow for the development and application of interactive online web-based learning tools for students in various science and health-related courses. It will focus on creating dynamic web pages featuring interactive tutorials covering: 1) Endocrine System, 2) Urinary System and 3) Reproductive System.

9. Creating Scholars: Preparing Students for Academic Success

The project will identify and select students who have taken college placement tests scoring into two or more developmental courses. Students participating in this project will be provided essential academic and retention supports to enhance academic skills and increase student persistence resulting in student success.

10. Development of Lab and Demonstration Activities

South Mountain Community College (2005-2006)
Laboratory activities and demonstrations will be developed for classes taught by adjunct faculty to foster increased student interest and conceptual knowledge. Adjunct faculty have content knowledge; however, they often need help and resources when developing new laboratory exercises and/or demonstrations for Telecom Technology classes.
