1. Image-ining Arizona in Introductory Geology S. Kadel Glendale Community College (2002-2003) I would like to produce a set of image-based Powerpoint presentations that use scenes in Arizona to illustrate the geologic concepts and landscapes covered in our introductory physical geology course. Currently our text provides overheads and "cartoons", with a CD-ROM for the students, but local examples are lacking. I propose to bridge this gap in a multi-media outline format that combines local/regional images with outline-format notes for each chapter. Where appropriate, the images would be labeled using Adobe Photoshop software. Once completed, I intend to make these Powerpoint presentations available to instructors via CD-ROM and the students as course notes via the internet so that they can create hardcopy printouts if desired.
