1. Intercultural Competence Applications in Distance Learning

Rio Salado College (2002-2003)
Five Rio Salado Faculty Chairs and five adjunct faculty intend to follow up on the work of Drs. Janet and Milton Bennett in adapting intercultural communication to lead to increased effectiveness in communication. These faculty will work together to draft and pilot applications of Intercultural Competence concepts and skills in Distance Learning materials in order to increase student learning. The project will be focused on researching applications for infusing intercultural competence into teaching and learning strategies and then drafting specific applications of adapting communication in teaching and learning in 3 possible areas: writing clear directions for assignments, providing assignment choices, and writing feedback to students on assignments.
