This meeting was held at Glendale Community College on April 5, 1999 as the next step following the learning@maricopa.edu paper of October 1997. The format for the meeting is based upon the book Open Space Technology, A User's Guide by Harrison Owen.

Using the Open Space meeting format, the participants generated the following key issues and discussions that follow.

• Incentives for learning/involvement for faculty and students is not based on learning
• Student Learning
• How to bridge academics and student services and measure success at the convergence
• Other Issues
