Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS)
The DMS was created Dr. Milton Bennet (1986, 1993) as a framework to explain the reactions of people to cultural difference.

Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)
The IDI was formulated by Dr. Mitchell Hammer (19918) in cooperation with Dr. Milton Bennet. The IDI is a 60-item, theory-based paper and pencil instrucment which measures five of the six major stagesd of the DMIS.
