What is MFI?The Maricopa Faculty Internship (MFI) is a 9-month internship program designed to provide teaching experience, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities for people interested in pursuing residential faculty positions in the Maricopa Community Colleges. The goal of the MFI program is to help facilitate a pool of potential candidates who reflect the diversity of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Applicants from historically under represented ethnic and racial groups are encouraged to apply. The Maricopa Community Colleges will actively recruit candidates in disciplines where there is underutilization identified in the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) Affirmative Action Plan. Identified general disciplines at this time include: English/Humanities/Social Science; Math; Natural Science; and Nursing. Participation in the Maricopa Faculty Internship does not, however, guarantee an intern a full-time residential faculty position. All prospective faculty candidates for positions at one of the Maricopa Community Colleges will be selected through a competitive hiring process. College ParticipationFour (4) MFI Interns will be selected to participate in the MFI program at four different colleges. For 2007-2008, the identified colleges are as follows:
