MFI: Compensation & Benefits
Interns
- Interns receive 90% of the base pay of residential faculty (Grade 0, Step 1; salary no less than $34,649). If currently employed full-time at Maricopa, the Intern will be paid at the rate of her/his current salary or the Intern salary, whichever is higher for the period of the internship.
- Interns who are full-time, regular employees of Maricopa receive all benefits to which they are entitled as Maricopa employees.
- Interns who are not full-time, regular employees of Maricopa will receive sick and personal time, retirement benefits, medical benefits, and tuition waiver for themselves (dependents are not eligible for tuition waiver).
- Interns are not be eligible for vacation during the internship.
- Interns are accountable for 30-40 hours a week.
- Interns may not participate in service, voluntary or paid, to the District, College or employee group governance and/or committees, unless such activity is directly related to and specified in his/her approved MFI Learning Contract.
Faculty Mentor
- The Faculty Mentor receives three hours of reassigned time each semester. If the college selects a team of Faculty Mentors, the college must decide how to allocate the three hours of reassigned time each semester.
