The Hybrid Course Template was an outcome of our first Hybrid Redesign Workshop. A collaborative effort, the template provides a framework of components that faculty may choose to use. Major focus is on communication of Student Academic Abilities; Critical Thinking and Communication.

7. E-Learning Travel Guide (Online & Hybrid Student Orientation to E-Learning Website)

This project was created as a follow-on to the Orientation CD previously developed. The scope has been expanded to include all SCC students taking Hybrid or Online courses. Also, the format has been changed to web-based for easier access by all students. Created using an engaging travel metaphor, students are provided with the "rules of the roads", a "tour guide", information on "packing their bags" as well as contacts for "roadside assistance." The participants included full-time and adjunct faculty who are currently Blackboard users and desired to enhance their courses through community building, interactive exercises and/or the appropriate use of media. A total of 17 faculty membes participated in one or more of the workshops, which were developed and presented in a Hybrid course format. The participants rated all three workshops as outstanding.
