The Great MLX Package Race
What is it?
In an effort to expand our inventory of packages and enhance the value of the warehouse, the MLX is offering an ongoing promotion to encourage Maricopa faculty and staff to step up and contribute items. Between April 1, 2004 and December 8, 2004 we are again tracking by college the number of packages registered in the warehouse.
Oh dear, the last race ended December 8, 2004. The Great Race Incentive programs are over, so please consider collegial reasons why you might share things in the MLX.
Huh? What are these "packages"? It's what this site is all about (the answer is here)! Our warehouse stores descriptions of learning materials, projects, media, web sites, experiments, ideas, innovations, activities... anything created by Maricopa people to support learning. Still not clear? See our information on types and examples of MLX packages.
What is the incentive? We are keeping a tally of the number of packages submitted per college as well as individual contributers. Previously, we awarded software prizes to the highest MLX "package per employee" (ppe), e.g. number of packages contributed divided by the full time employee count for that college, but for the current race we are warding just the individual efforts.

Thanks to our friends, supporters and sponsors...

Latest from the marketing department... "The Third Great Package Race has ended, and we are now starting of Round 4. We are tallying now all submitted items between the end of the last race (April 1, 2004) and next Fall (December 8, 2004). We have more prizes for the colleges that submit the most as well as individual prizes to the individuals who share the most packages.
News from inventory control... "The last we checked (Dec 09, 2004 01:31:16 pm), the current leaders in the Great Package Race are Sharon Fagan in first place with 7 packages, followed by Lisa Young with 9
contributed packages. And FYI, as a college Chandler-Gilbert has contributed the most new packages, 41. Check out the scoreboard to see the standings."

How do I contribute a package? It is simple, fast, and efficient! Some say it is even fun. Just head over to the loading dock, create and account, and our warehouse staff will prompt you for all the information. For more assistance, see the 1-2-3 guide to creating packages.
So how is the race going? Check out the current score sheet.
