What is the Great Package Race? It is an incentive program we launched in late 2002 to encourage Maricopa employees to contribute items to the MLX. From November 2002 to the end of March 2003 we tracked how many items were contributed by each Maricopa College, and posted updated score sheet. Scores are normalized by the total number of employees per college, and prizes were offered to the colleges that had the top 3 scores. This was repeated for March 2003-September 2003, and October 2003-March 2004.
Previously, we awarded software prizes to the highest MLX "package per employee" (ppe), e.g. number of packages contributed divided by the full time employee count for that college, but for the current race we are warding just the individual efforts. (more about the race...)
