The Student Orientation to Online Learning CD explains the basic skills and materials necessary for student success in an online course.

The Student Orientation to Online Learning CD contains movies in the AVI format and PDF documents packaged through Camtasia Studio created to help students prepare for online courses.

The program focuses on the following:
• Skills and characteristics of successful online learners
• Features of online courses that make them different from other course formats
• Self evaluation for prospective online learners (including assessment of skills, learning styles, and expectations) and advise on how to strengthen their potential weaknesses
• Required computer equipment and software
• Tips and tutorials on using Blackboard, the web-based course management system that delivers our online courses

Note that MLX attachments are limited to 10 Mb each, so you may have to provide just a sample or create a copy in a more bandwidth friendly format (QuickTime, .mov, Windows Media, /wmv) or link to a source on an SCC server.

Even a few JPEGs of movie frames would help give an idea to the movie's contents.
