This activity was created by Alan Levine for CIS 236, "Web Based Teaching", an online course offered Spring 2004 at Phoenix College.
Objectives
--------
* Identify the major issues of copyright and its relation to creation of online course materials
* Identify fair use guidelines for different media types used in online environments
* Compose and send an email request for permission letter to an owner of copyrighted material
The activity includes two resource sites "Intellectual Property Law: Why Should I Care?" from UCLA and the University of Texas "Copyright Tutorial".
The assignment included taking the quizzes from both sites as well as a task of sending an email request for use of copyrighted material.
In addition, we invited an associate dean of isntruction form one of our colleges to be a guest epert for a 3 days online Q&A on copyright- a summary is attached to this package.
