summary |
"A Critical Analysis of Volcanic Hazards"
Volcanic landforms are created by different styles of eruptions. And eruption styles can be forcasted anywhere in the world using the 3 Vs of Volcanology: Viscosity, Volatiles, and Volume. By mixing and matching the values among the 3 Vs, you can define volcanic landforms and eruptive styles. |
details |
A geology lab in volcanics for the GLG 111 program.
The main purpose of this lab is to have students apply what they have learned about magmas/lavas and allow them to see the link between eruptive behaviors and landforms.
The exercise requires the use of lecture notes, the text, and the text's CD. Students may work in pairs, and each pair will receive the same evaluation grade on their common essay.
