summary

Microsoft Office and PhotoEditor have some excellent tools to easily modify images for insertion into Word, PowerPoint, etc. The step-by-step instructions will teach you how to get images from various sources; resize, crop, and adjust their brightness, contrast, and color; wrap text wrap around it, and capturing parts of the computer screen and insert them in your instructions.

details

I have always been a technology resource person to other faculty. The Faculty Staff Development program at CGCC offers many workshops, and I wrote this as a two-hour hands-on workshop for the faculty and staff here. It is self-explanatory and should be of value without you being in the actual workshop with me. In addition to the contents described in the Summary, there are also pointers given on positioning graphics on the page, characteristics of different Web file types, and some Web sites where you can search for images to include in your documents.

Hi Bill. I read your article "Working With Images in Word," after finding it on the internet; good job, it was well-written and very helpful. However, I didn't find the main thing that I was surfing for, on the net: how do you embed pictures in a Word document, and then e-mail them to someone? I have been trying to make small, daily reading lessons for my granddaughter, but when my daughter receives them, she says that the graphics have not shown up; instead, they just appear as an empty box, with a red "X." She has Word on her computer, although I don't know which version or whether or not that would have any bearing on the problem. In addition, she has a Mac, and I have a PC; once again, I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem or not. I am using MSN as my ISP. Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem might be? I would be very grateful, if you could help me with this problem.
