A Flash Module designed to introduce beginning chemistry students to the general features of the periodic table.

details

Often beginning chemistry students have difficulties understanding the organization of the periodic table and retaining the salient points of its structure. The module was created with the support of a MCLI grant and its main purpose is to provide students with both a graphical and an interactive experience.

Included in the module are the following sections:

Elements: where are they?
Periods
Groups (American and IUPAC classification)
Metals & non
State of Matter

Included in the module are animations to explain and/or clarify concepts as well portions where the students can self test their understanding.
