A "Shareback" provides a link from here to other websites where MLX Package 1292 has been used, described, or referenced. It uses "Trackback" technology to share these remote citings back to the item's packing slip.
Shareback is both a courtesy and a way to provide feedback to Patti N. Johnson, the person who contributed News Reporting of 2004 Presidential Debate in Tempe, AZ to the MLX. In addition, it may help visitors to this package to see other contexts in which the package has been used or described.
Creating a Shareback sends a short electronic message, or a "ping", back to the MLX that says, "This MLX package has been described on this web site at this address, with this description" and thus becomes part of the data associated with the package.
Weblogs such as MovableType, TypePad, and Manila have built-in tools to automate creation of sharebacks- if the URL for this package is mentioned in an entry created on these systems, the information is automatically sent back to the MLX as a "shareback."
