Ocotillo

Now in it's 19th year, Ocotillo has served as a faculty-driven catalyst for addressing technology and learning at the Maricopa Community Colleges. Ocotillo takes its name from a plant which is indigenous to the natural Arizona landscape. Like the plant's branches which reach up and out in many directions, Ocotillo's ideas may reach out, grow, and flourish.

For academic year 2006-2007, we have identified five Maricopa faculty to conduct research on podcasting, webconferencing software packages, various RSS technologies, iCampus, and an array of other instructional technology resources. Each faculty member will spend the year researching, experimenting, and dialoguing about his or her respective area of interest.

Furthermore, the Ocotillo Learning Group (OLG) will continue to provide district instructors with access to current information and practice related to learning technologies as well as Ocotillo Research and Development group activities and products.
