Timeline

March 1998 -- A&E emerges as top issue as reported at a meeting of the Ocotillo Chairs. Also at that meeting, it was announced the copies of the Flashlight survey tool were being sent to each college chair.
April 1998 -- Before the May retreat, responses to questions about A&E were compiled from the colleges.
May 19-20, 1998 -- At the Ocotillo retreat, more issues and ideas emerged
June 1998 -- Ted Wolter and Doug Sawyer, facilitators of the Retreat discussion session, recommended follow-up forums with more people from the colleges and the District office.
June 25, 1998 -- First Summer Forum on A&E
July 30, 1998 -- Second Summer Forum on A&E
February 1999 -- Ocotillo chairs share assessment and evaluation efforts at each of the colleges as well as experiences with the national TLT Group's "Flashlight" project.
May 1999 -- Participants in the café discussion sessions of the Ocotillo Retreat brainstorm ideas about Assessment of Technology, responding to the question:

"What are examples of relatively 'easy"' to obtain measures of technology use that provide meaningful data that support future planning and institutional goals? These should be things that can be done on a consistent basis."

A summary provides a roadmap for future action.
December 1999 -- Following up on the 1999 Retreat suggestions, Ocotillo chairs discuss a technology survey with representatives from the Institutional Research & Strategic Outcomes Assessment (IR/SOA)
February 2000 -- Ocotillo chairs develop draft question items for the technology survey.
Spring 2001 -- Doug Sawyer obtained funding allocated to the Institutional Research & Strategic Outcomes Assessment (IR/SOA) office to complete a technology attitude survey from former Maricopa students.
