About OLG
The Online Learning Group is a forum for those who teach, develop, and support online learning. We promote networking, communications, and information sharing. Through monthly meetings at college sites, we work to increase members' knowledge and understanding of online learning, use of technology, pedagogy, and teaching strategies in online environments.
Each meeting we give away door prizes to meeting participants who have signed in! You can get your own copy of it in the MLX.
Respondus and StudyMate is available! 9 Colleges have renewed our license for 2005-2006 and it is available for all faculty and staff at the nine participating Maricopa colleges-- see the access information for details.
Julie Magadan (Chandler-Gilbert) and Amy MacPherson (South Mountain) provided a detailed guide to formatting quiz content in Respondus (find it in the MLX).
Alan Levine (MCLI) provided a hands on demo for creating structured forms in MS Word (find it in the MLX).
Kurt Chambers (Phoenix College) shared his sample rubric (PDF) for writing assignments.
Ginny Brouch, art faculty at Phoenix College, presented her online courses at the September 2001 OLG meeting. As requested, she shared one of her sample lessons "What are .jpg files? How are they used?" which covers how to save images as JPEG from different software programs, "Will your art work be stolen?", and ideas for "Keeping an Artist's Journal".
