Although the phone meeting format is okay, Manny suggests
that we consider some in-person meetings (so we do not
forgot each others lovely faces)-- and proposes November's
and February's meetings be in-person.
Mannyn poposed that Friday, November 7th and Wednesday, February 4th Meetings will be in-person meetings.
Friday, November 7th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., District - 4th Floor - Babbage 413
Alan was wondering about the videoconferences he A1ed everyone about.
Technology Planning Strategies [Nov. 17] 11-1 and
Implementing Campus Technology Support Strategies [Dec. 9] 11-1.
Is anyone interested in getting this downlinked? Yes (most liked the optino of viewing the videotapes later)
Elements of tech plans
Alan has synthesized discissions and reviews
of existing plans onto document that is on chairs web page:
http://www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/ocotillo/chairs/elements.htmlManny would like to agree on the elements for all colleges (i.e. front-end Table of Contents listing common elements found on each colleges outline).
From that the college could go into it's own topic description and from there it could link out to the other colleges with the same main topic. All the common topics would be linked among the colleges. We would have a common outline where any of the colleges could get ideas from the other colleges and be able to access the information in an easy way. Major key points (i.e. Training, Funding, Facilities, or Evaluation)
Alan suggested we come up with an agreed upon list of topics. Every college is working on their own outline so we are not trying to dictate a format, instead we want a side document that lists major key points. This document sits outside each colleges plan like a second table of contents that would point to the pieces of the plan as you write them. This document would not only serve as how each college's planning is going, but also as a follow-up as to how the plan is being implemented (at benchmark times of the year). What is the status of your plan? A planning and documenting of each plan. If you have more topics than are listed in the common ones, than they would be listed individually at your college site.
These elements should be "corner stones of every colleges technology plan, not the bricks that make up each plan."
Bob, Brad, Doug all see this as valuable.
Ted and Manny suggest we uese CGCC's Outline as a starting point.
(Goals and Objectives would be listed for all categories)
One of the broad elements can be that every year we will update the status of where we are and measure that with our past goals.
