This is a summary of the tasks in the AAHE TLTR workbook that was provided for the ocotillo faculty chairs at the May97 Retreat.

TASK SUMMARY
1 discuss wide-ranging topic(s) within a large group of people from the same institution
2 introduce your institution to people and teams from another institution
3 identify possible participants in own TLTR
4 develop a vision that might be realized if enough people believe in it and are willing to work for it
5 clarify what is to be accomplished; define what success will mean
6 describe how TLTR relates to existing campus committee(s)
7 meeting schedules; when, where, how to convene people to participate
8 communicate with others in your institution who are not serving on TLTR teams
9 establish effective sub-groups
10 develop list of local individuals with specific skills who would be helpful
11 develop list of national individuals with specific skills who would be helpful
12 identify needed support services
13 define faculty roles, rewards, and development; do this after TLTRs have proven to be effective and accepted
14 create/improve your institution's faculty support center to assist/mentor faculty with technology usage to improve teaching and learning
15 plan for local teaching, learning, and technology summer institutes
16 define/improve the roles of students as assistants in technology-based teaching and learning environments
17 modify financial planning and budgeting to reflect investments needed to integrate technology with teaching and learning
18 develop strategies for making changes to employ technology to improve productivity, communication, community linkages
19 assess how investments in information technology will produce valuable educational results
20 focus on institutional policies that shape the use of technology resources
21 INTERVISITATION TRIOS: form a small team from two institutions to visit a third institution to provide an outside perspective, develop picture of current status, needs, expectations
22 define the kinds of help your institution could gain from the national TLTR program
23 develop closing session team reports
