| What is your discipline and the title of your course? |
| My disciplines are English and Humanities. I am teaching English 101 First Year Composition and English Humanities 254 Mythology as hybrids.

| What makes your course a hybrid? |
| My course is hybrid because one class each week is face-to-face the second class each week is an online activity.

| What kind of activities do students do in out of class time? |
| Each week, students write a journal entry that addresses some issue we are working on in class. I also have them writing papers, researching web sites, responding to readings, and working on group projects.

| Where do your students do their out of work activities? |
| My students do their out-of-class activities either at home or at a computer lab on campus.

| What was the reason for offering your course as a hybrid? |
| I was ready for a new direction in teaching and thought that hybrid courses could mix the best of in-class activities with the best of technology.

| How many scheduled f2f meetings are there and how are they scheduled? |
| I see my students face-to-face each week during the semester.

| What technologies support your hybrid? |
| Blackboard and Adobe Acrobat.

| What worked? What did not? |
I like the in-class discussions better than online discussions; the discussions seem richer and more developed. I like online group projects because students can exchange information easily.
I dislike the lack of in-depth student exchanges online; students seem to put a minimum effort to their postings. I dislike how many students don't get online every week by the deadline.

| What would you do over/different? |
| I will develop rubrics for online postings and try to get more in-depth online responses. I will set up a Blackboard training session for all my students. I have also developed a form for advisors so they can do a better job of advising students into my hybrid courses.

| I had Blackboard and Respondus training. Technical support is available to me but not my students.
