Combs Survey

Survey Results
Below are the results of Bernie Combs' survey, which he presented to the Maricopa Blackboard Group at its meeting on April 28, 2000. These results are from a survey given to his Psychology 101 class at the end of the Spring 2000 semester. His class is a web-enhanced class, with all papers and activities accessed through the site.

FYI
This survey is class-specific, but there may be questions that you may find useful in your own survey. We have exported the survey and provide it below if you find questions that you would like to use, or if you want to see how the survey was created in the Question Pool.

See contact info below.

Import It!
(thanks for Nick Bacon for spelling out the steps)

  1. Download the .zip file from the MBbG site. Do NOT unzip the file. If your browser has a plugin that wants to do it automatically, right click (PC) or click-and-hold (Mac) the link to the survey and download it to your desktop.

  2. Upload the .zip file to your Blackboard class. From the Pool Manager control panel, click the Import Pool tab; click the Browse... button, and select the .zip file on your desktop; and click submit. A page will come up telling you the import is complete.

  3. Use the pool to create a survey. From the Assessment Manager control panel, click the Add Survey button.

  4. Proceed as you would if you were creating a regular test or survey, until you reach the Add Question(s) To Assessment page. Here, where it says Question Type, select From Question Pool on the pull down list and click submit

  5. Click the combs_survey Question Pool from the list that appears on the next page and click submit

  6. On the next page, make no changes and click submit

  7. On the next page, you must make your selections for the survey: if you want all the questions from the pool to appear on the survey, you must select every question by checking off the check box next to the question; click submit

  8. On the next page, a preview comes up and you can save, or save and make available.
