Since 1987, the Ocotillo group has championed instructional technology for Maricopa. We are a faculty driven group that has explored MANY pedagogical issues revolving around technology in our classrooms and online. Improved teaching and learning continues to be our primary focus.

Ocotillo will hold a one hour orientation and overview seminar for new faculty throughout the district. The seminar objective is to familiarize you with the resources available through Ocotillo and will overview the instructional technology sessions available this fall.

As General Faculty Chair of Ocotillo, I want to personnally invite you to this short, but highly informative, session. After 30 years as a teacher, I have first-hand experience with how new technologies and pedagogies can invigorate faculty and increase student productivity. This year, Ocotillo is focusing on Hybrid Course Structures, E-Portfolios, Learning Objects, and Emerging Learning Technologies.

Each of these initiatives possess unlimited possibilities and potential for improved teaching and learning. In many cases, I believe you will find that you can actually "gain" time through technology.
