- Get Real: Real-Time Data Adventures and Internet Collaboratives [TC 244]

The Savvy Cyber Teacher ®, originally designed for K-12 and implemented by
Think Tank, has sites to behold for use with the community college student,
including: "Navigational Vectors" (students track a jet in flight and learn
how vectors and trigonometry are used); "Musical Plates" (use real time
earthquake data to learn about plate tectonics); and Gulf Stream Voyage
(use real-time data in various scientific applications in order to discover
the mysteries of the Gulf Stream). Also explore investigative Internet
collaboratives: students worldwide share data and draw conclusions as they
seek, for example, to rendezvous with an asteroid, sample fresh water
sources, or conduct a worldwide search for dominant genetic traits.
