College Campuses of 2016?
Working in college groups, taking the ideas and discussing how they fit into the current master planning process. Take a strong look at the physical needs of your campus and consider new facilities will not even start until after 2006 and may be in use at least 10-15 years out. Bring your current planning materials. For reference, current air photos and campus plans will be posted.
Put the ideas on paper! Are we paying attention to the need for what Philip Parsons called "mixed-use" and "circulation" spaces? What should the classroom space look like? What should the spaces include as features, and where should they be located? What are the implications of hybrid teaching modes on space planning? What and where should student services be? What are the design and support implications for multi-site colleges?
