Café Discussions: About the Format
As part of our retreat activities, we are looking at 4 major issues that have been identified this year by the Ocotillo Chairs:

We will use a modified "world cafe" technique (simliar to the open spaces technologies method) we used in previous retreats. Each partiipant is assigned a randomly generated order of topics to visit, noted by colored signs on the tables. Each topic has 4 different tables identified by number, and the row of colored dots with numbers on your tag will let you know which table you should report to first.

At the table, you will find instructions specific to each topic, and in your group, you are to spend 15 minutes discussion and sketching out ideas on the provided "Ocotillo Blueprint paper".

At the end of 15 minutes, you will move on to your next topics, and work with a new group of people.

Therefore, at the end of an hour, you would have worked in 4 different groups and contributed ideas to all of the topics. Each topics then has 4 different collections of ideas, which we will then post on the wall to synthesize and comment on.
