About the Desert Botanical Garden

In conjunction with our desert plant metaphor, the 2004 Ocotillo Retreat takes place at the unique Phoenix location, the Desert Botanical Garden, located at Papago Park. The entrance is on Galvin Parkway, between McDowell Road and Van Buren Avenue (Use the Priest Road exit from the Loop 202 freeway).

Parking is available in the main visitor lot. At the entrance, indicate your participation with the Maricopa Community College's event and you will be allowed free entry. You may want to request a map or ask for directions to the Webster Center, located at the south end of the garden (follow the Desert Discovery Trail.
Use this map as a guide for the walk to the Webster Center, the location of our activities. It is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance area, unless you get distracted along the way looking at the cacti! Note that your participation in the retreat provides you free access to the rest of the garden after we are done.
Please dress casually and comfortably for the retreat! Lunch will be served outside on a shaded patio and our afternoon discussion activities will take place at scattered table locations around Webster Center.
