description:
You can easily create online games that simulate Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune using StudyMate software. You can also quickly make games such as crossword puzzles, hangman (fill in the blank letter), flashcards, or create matching activities using vocabulary words that your students need to learn. You can develop online multiple choice quizzes for students to take and check their answers themselves (an option for test review purposes).

These resources can be posted online (on any web server) and your students can access them at the time of their choosing.

You can create your own questions or StudyMate will import items from publisher test banks if they are saved as rich text files (rtf) or text files (txt).

You can even insert mathematical and scientific symbols using the built-in Equation Editor. Questions and answers can be randomized so the activity is different each time the student starts it.

Games are saved as Flash files so they are small in size and download quickly. This is a wonderful way to get students to review vocabulary words and other drill-and-practice content.

Once you've created these gems, these online games take care of themselves. The student sees whether or not they got the correct answer without you having to grade the activity. See what these tools can do for your students!

More details and presentation materials are available in the Maricopa Learning eXchange package for this session.
