description:
Maricopa has built unique features into our interface between SIS and Blackboard. Our Master/Template application helps instructors in two ways.
Master Courses help instructors by giving them the flexibility to enroll students from multiple sections in SIS into a "Master" course in Blackboard. These Master courses can be used to help consolidate content or to allow students from multiple sections to participate in discussion boards or other types of collaboration. Assessment and grading can be done at either level.
Templates allow a course that is already in Blackboard to be used as a starting point for a new semester for one or more sections. Each section in SIS can be assigned a Template so that when this section is flagged in SIS and exported into Blackboard, the template will be used to create the new course for the new semester.
While this tool is being used with the legacy SIS it was designed so that only minor changes will need to be made for it to work with the New Student System.
More details and presentation materials are available in the Maricopa Learning eXchange package for this session.
