"What is your level of interest in this demo topic? (1-5)": Average:
4.53 (N=40)
"What questions do you have?": (N=31)
- Very interesting. Good work.
- No questions.
- How can I use new tech in classroom? Who is using them now? What emerging tech are available now at MCCCD?
- Next year give GCC a call. We would love to participate. Great job suyo!
- None.
- How can links be made to specific fields of study?
- Should we have standardized wireless security/access throughout Maricopa? What is in the slope and plateau areas?
- It's interesting that Larry said we should be on the Slope of Enlightenment. But we always push the hype.
- I ll have a question after I reflect more on ideas.
- None.
- I'm still unclear how the horizontal report relates to what technology Maricopa supports? What technologies should we focus on since there seems to be so many?
- What are you talking about? Very loose threads.
- How can I get a copy of the Ed. Tech. Horizon Chart 2001-2000? (grove.com?)- Gartner Hype cycle?
- What does the future hold with all our progressing technology? How do we keep up with it?
- "Does the district have funding to acquire/ get involved with continually advancing technology? Funding for staff, training, as well as the actual technology."
- "Where is our new-found responsibility to train knowledgeable workers in this mix? NMC has managed to integrate technology innovations with teaching and learning, but why don't I see a similar integration with emerging workplace technology matched to teaching and learning methodology? "
- What are the emerging technologies outside of Maricopa? I've been told that this group is the appropriate place to re-focus the district (all of us at our separate colleges) on intelligent Capital Development planning to use our bond monies wisely! Will this be a '05-'06 Focus? Can we get someone like Philip Palsons/ Deepika Ross to come back to Maricopa in the early fall to get us thinking in that direction?
- What about the new Sony (PSD) portable device?
- Is there a split on use of technology based on size of college?
- What is Internet 2? Where do I find the time to do this thinking creatively? How do I set up Instant Messenger? Just like Larry's? How did L. remove the top layer on the Grove visual?
- Teachers will always find a way to use tools to teach more effectively so students can be 'successful'.
- "How do we keep the conversation going? How do we connect planning processes, budgeting, staffing, training to the ""dream?"""
- How to stay current with emerging technologies.
- Issues regarding copyright. How are we sure our closed site is a secure as a classroom?
- How other future tech are affecting US. Ex. Automotives securities.
- How can people get involved?
- "How long will it take? What is your projected date for tabulating HD visualization use for all colleges, and wireless use as well as infastructive support?"
- More info on internet Z? What are the next portable devices that we are going to put in students hands?
- How can I use this technology in my life drawing and anatomy classes?
- How to coordinate the tech price with the academic needs?
- How will Ocotillo initiatives blend with Admin or TLC planning to see them become real.
"What would you need to use this idea?": (N=24)
- Not sure.
- Great.
- More concrete examples concise hand-out giving urls for the information presented.
- Johnson was an excellent speaker- bring him back.
- Communication (Ocotillo/TLC/ITAC) Direction.
- Explore it.
- How does this information get to the right people? Does the administrator know that we need to move ahead on new technology and the cost?
- Are these upgrades included in the bond? Who will make the find decisions? Faculty or admin?
- "Tighten up threads or require reading of blog report before this kind of presentation. Better yet, assign small groups discussion topic of the elt's (just portable devices could take a while) and report back to larger group re: feasibility of being early adopters, etc."
- More research and more knowledge.
- Overview was useful. Informational.
- Commitment from district.
- "This question is not applicable, exactly; but I will take some time to investigate the Action Group site and the NMC site."
- To know whats going on in the future w.r.t. technology at Maricopa.
- Help in setting up Inst. Msg. in the classroom. Increased Bandwith at EMC.
- Training.
- "$, Staff, Training."
- More exposure on campus or to district.
- It would be helpful to have the campus provide an expert in this area to help faculty as they develop web based instruction.
- More specifics.
- Updated technology.
- Support for educational training for both K-12 and CC faculty.
- "A workshop. Lets have some actual training in these new technologies we are learning about. I get back to the office and say ""now what?"" We need training and backup at our colleges."
- Great output/project results- we really need to work on a tighter integration of process.
