We look forward to seeing you at the May 18-19 Ocotillo Retreat in Flagstaff. You and 140 other Maricopans will interact in activities designed by the ten Ocotillo chairs to stimulate ideas and solutions about our uses of technology for learning. Our agenda will have you deeply involved in addressing issues of Assessment of Learning with Technology, Access to Technology, Technology Staffing, Technology Cost/Replacement, and Faculty/Staff Development for Technology.

A key theme this year is to build more connections between the college Ocotillo roundtables and other district initiatives that involve instructional technology. Therefore, joining us at the retreat, will be staff members from District Information Technologies Services, Employment, Student Services, Facilities Planning, Institutional Assessment, and more. We're even mixing in a few executives! We will have the participation and perspective of interim Chancellor Cardeñas along with Vice Chanellors Bleed, de los Santos, and Waechter.

We will have brainstorming activities, idea and success sharing, technology demonstration from Blackboard, an update on the Chancellor's Distance Learning committee report, and a briefing from Maricopans attending a workshop on the Flashlight technology evaluation instrument. There will be something fun, too!

We are confident that this gathering of colleagues will generate a lot of energy and great ideas and foster collaborations as we wrestle with the ever-changing state of technology.

See you in Flagstaff!
