Planning for IT Change and Innovation in Higher Education
Mike Zastrocky
10:30 AM - 3:15 PM, February 20-21, 2003
Since the mid 90's, a flood of IT technologies and trends has
engulfed enterprises, often impairing their ability to expand their
capabilities and contributing, in part, to the current global recession.
Looking ahead to 2007, Gartner expects this flood to recede enough to give
institutions time to assess, realize and profit from the continuing promise
of IT. While budgets will continue to be tight for the next few years, we
will explore how best to bring innovation and change into the strategic and
tactical planning for Maricopa Community Colleges. During the day we will
explore together which technologies ought to be embraced and which might
best be put into the closet. We will also look at current higher ed IT
trends, new and emerging technologies, and organizational and management
issues.
